Introduction to program evaluation

In program evaluation, several, sometimes very diverse individual projects need to be reconciled. This can represent a real challenge. Special attention should also be paid to how the evaluation of individual projects can be combined with the evaluation of the program. The evaluation is ideally carried out at a project level. This means that the data from the project evaluation can also be used for the program evaluation by avoiding duplicated data collection.

This handbook can support you in designing a cross-project evaluation. It shows which steps form part of the evaluation process and accompanies you through this process. As with to project evaluation, we have ensured that the evaluation takes the progress of the program into account in order to guarantee a successful link between the evaluation and program management.

evaluation process

Please check the framework model for program evaluation, the information on the evaluation levels and the chapter structure first before you begin with the evaluation.
