Questionnaire on system architecture

In order to obtain an overview of the goals and activities within the implementation process as early as possible, and in order to be able to intervene correctively if needed, an analysis of the project landscape based on levels of system architecture is appropriate for infrastructural programs:

1. level: User applications

• These programs perform a useful functionality for the user.

2. level: Application services

• Application services support the development, deployment and administration of user applications.

3. level: Software infrastructure

• This level allows the communication among otherwise unconnected software components.

4. level: Hardware infrastructure and databases

• The lowest level contains hardware infrastructure and databases.

The following questionnaire shows which core aims the projects consider that they have, which lower-level goals they are aiming for, and in which areas they are active, even if this does not form part of their task.
