Evaluation object

Different objects or “evaluands” can constitute an evaluation object. It is important that you know exactly what to evaluate before you begin the evaluation.

“Small” and “large” evaluation objects
An evaluation can relatve to relatively “small” evaluation objects, such as individual Learning Objects (LOs) or relatively “large” ones such as entire courses.

Product evaluation
"Product evaluation relates to a developed product such as an educational program or components of it and aspects of quality, effects (e.g. learning success), efficiency and utility are in the foreground" (Tergan, 2000).

Process evaluation
"Process evaluation emphasises aspects of planning process and/or development process, or approaches in the specific application of a course or the individual components of the offer in question" (Tergan, 2000). The process evaluation is not the same as formative evaluation!
