Evaluation standards
Evaluations should include four
basic characteristics:
- Utility:
"Utility standards ensure that evaluations are designed to meet
the information needs of the intended users of the evaluation."
- Feasibility:
"Feasibility standards ensure that evaluations are well-planned and conducted
realistically, , diplomatically and economically."
- Compliance:
"Compliance standards ensure that evaluations are conducted in
compliance with legal and ethical standards and pay appropriate attention
to the well-being of the participants and of those affected."
- Accuracy:
"Accuracy standards ensure that evaluations produce and
communicate valid and useful information." (all quotes translated from Widmer, Landert & Bachmann, 2000).
