EDEN25 – Re-Imagining Learning Environments

Our current age has been framed by the concept of the "information age". Sometimes also known as the "computer age". In a networked society as ours, digital technology has touched and changed many aspects of day-to-day life. For example, many long-standing societal, business and institutional systems have either lost their relevance or have transformed beyond recognition, the music, banking and travel industries being excellent examples. Education does not stand untouched and we observe emerging and declining paradigms, changing expectations from society, our students now framed as consumers, with new and emerging types of informal learning experiences (take MOOCs for example) and all too frequently operating in unstable economic and policy environments.

Appetit Webinar – Knowledge Communication in Digital Education with Videos

As a follow-up to the research video "Video Styles in MOOCs – A journey into the world of digital education" sowie die Paper Publikation "Differences & Commonalities, A comparative report of video styles and course descritptions on edX, Coursera, Futurelearn and iversity", Jeanine Reutemann will hold a webinar on knowledge transfer through educational videos. Webinar: Interactive Learning Videos with Capira

In most current online courses, quizzes are detached from the video both visually and in terms of content, and break the flow of the learner’s experience. Hence, the authors of courses may hesitate to use a large number of lightweight quizzes in their courses, even though research in didactics suggests beneficial effects in doing so. As such, we have developed a web application to turn online videos into interactive learning experiences that engage students and deepen understanding.

DeLFI & HDI 2016

Die Fachgruppe E-Learning der Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) veranstaltet seit 2003 die Tagungsreihe DeLFI: Jährlich werden dem interessierten Fachpublikum aktuelle, innovative und informatiknahe Ergebnisse zum Thema E-Learning aus Forschung und Praxis präsentiert.
